Reasons to love Lemon Water!

"I'm in love, I'm in love and I don't care who knows it."

I'm in a love affair. I'm in a mentally and emotionally exhilarating love affair with lemon water.
It's just so delicious, hydrating, and fresh that I quickly chug about 3 cups of it in the first 10 minutes of my day. It's a good departure from my standard cup of joe and it's also a lot better for you! Here are just a few of it's benefits:

  • Skin. It has anti-aging properties and improves the overall appearance. It helps reduce toxins in your body, which gives your skin that natural glowy look. Its alkaline properties can actually kill bacteria that cause acne.
  • Nutrition. Not only are they low in calories, but lemons house various phytochemicals that act as antioxidants, and anti-inflammatorys. They are an excellent source of vitamin C, which boost your immune system and protect your body from nasty colds and unwanted sickness. Also in lemons: Calcium, vitamin B6, iron, and riboflavin are prevalent.
  • Alkalinity. Although it's an acidic fruit, lemons act as an alkanizing agent when they are in the body. Cancer cells tend to dwell in more acidic bodies, and consuming lemons helps to lower our pH levels.
  • Digestion. Citric acid in lemons is a natural preservative and aids in digestion. There is also fiber in lemons which is great to keep you full longer and helps keep you regular. Lemons help stimulate your liver to produce more bile, which is then stored in your gallbladder so you can digest more fat! Yeah!
  • Respiration. Aides in breathing and cases of asthma. The Vitamin C not only boosts your immune system but it helps with chest infections and allergies.
  • Detoxification. Lemon water aides the liver in its detoxification activities and also purifys your blood.

Oh, and don't forget the zest. It has lots of goodies like calcium, potassium, vitamin C, and fiber! Not only is lemon water delicious and great for you, but it allows makes me drink more water. More water = better skin + less room for other (bad) things I could be drinking/eating

Je suis désolé

I'm so sorry for my absence!
About 2 weeks ago I received some terrible news in regards to someone in my family. I thought I would kind of take a break from the blackhole that is the interwebz to gather my thoughts and focus my energy on where it was needed.
Don't worry, I'm not going anywhere!
I'll keep you updated if things drastically turn, but please keep my family in your prayers.
I will definitely begin posting regularly beginning tomorrow.
Thanks and computer fist bumps,
from my home to yours.

JessListens: Rihanna- Stay ft. Mikky Ekko

Ever since Rihanna's performance at the Grammy's about a week ago, I have had "Stay" on repeat. RAW is the one word I would use to describe this song.

Screenshot of RihannaVeVo - Rihanna - Stay ft. Mikky Ekko

It portrays Rihanna is a different light, exposing her vulnerability. The video is well matched, displaying a bare-faced and nude silhouette of RiRi in a bathtub. I think the "stripped-down" video is perfect to portray her sensible, susceptible, tender side. She has always been one of those singers that consumes you into her performance.

OPI Panda-monium Pink- Review and Swatches

This is the time of year I start to swap all of the deep oxblood reds and rich fall shades for something light and airy. With Spring just being a month away, a pastel creme was just what I was looking for.

OPI Panda-monium Pink, 3 coats

OPI Panda-monium Pink is a pretty and soft baby lilac-pink creme shade that was released in the OPI Hong Kong Spring 2010 Collection. It's cool-toned and pretty much equal shades pink and lilac. I think this shade goes well with all skin tones. It reminds me of the fair for some reason. Maybe because it somewhat resembles cotton candy? Or maybe because I'm hungry and thinking of cotton candy? Probably the latter of the two.

OPI Panda-monium Pink, 1 coat

The formulation was a tad less than typical with 2 coats for good coverage, but 3 coats for full opacity. OPI shades are pretty durable on me, and usually last about a week.

All-in-all, OPI Panda-monium Pink is one of my all-time favorites and tend to reach for it when I want something toned down but not completely nude.

Much love and computer fist bumps,

AND IT CONTINUES...

So now I've found a template I like, but I have to figure out how to customize it. Bear with me!

This is old but it's a picture from a trip I took to Tennessee 2 years back at Winchester Springs, TN. I will be returning this summer, and I love it there! It's very much country living and sooo serene. It's definitely a getaway location, I don't even get cellphone service out there. Well I just wanted to put up a quick post. So if anyone is reading they won't feel totally neglected haha. See you guys tomorrow!
